Bought my first Carpenters CD today! She has such a fantastic voice, so rich and such amazing legato and breath control! They had real singers back then. I was just a kid in the 70s but remember quite a few of the songs, and they are all so positive and 'feel good'. What is your favourite Carpenter's song?

What's the name of it... It's the one I always did at karaoke because I can sound just like her... "Yesterday Once More"? Yeah, that's it.
"Every sha-la-la-la,
Every Wo-o-o-ooh still shines..."
Lucky you! That song is really beautiful. I think my favourites so far are 'Sing' and 'Masquerade'
I agree, she had such a great voice. Which makes your question a bit difficult. I also love "On top of the world", but I think my favorite is "Close to you" because, silly as it sounds, once I met my husband, the love of my life, I really knew what she meant.
